Welcome to our new website!

Stanford Science Penpals was established in 2014 by our founders Teni and Amanda and ran its first pilot penpal program in the spring of 2015. Since then, we have expanded our reach to over 100 scientist-student pairings across California, New Mexico, and Texas with great success! Our graduate student and postdoc scientists report that they appreciate getting to know their students through the letters and enjoy finding ways to share their scientific interests with students. Likewise, the teachers we have partnered with have been very excited to expose their students to scientists and scientific careers which they don't normally have access to. The program is low-cost and easy to implement for both teachers and scientists.
